CONTACT NAME RECOGNITION

Do you give Vlingo permission to create an index of your contacts to improve voice recognition accuracy of spoken contacts?

Why do this?

In order to greatly increase accuracy when you speak contact names (either for SMS, email, or voice dialing), Vlingo indexes your address book and adds only the contact names to its recognition models. This enables Vlingo to recognize your contacts' names and how they are spelled (e.g. "Text Choire Sicha").

How does it work?

If you allow Vlingo to create an index of your contacts, we will send only your contact names to our servers.

If you disable contact indexing, we will not send your contact names to our servers and we will purge any contact information that may have been previously sent to our servers.

Only the names of your contacts are used.

Vlingo collects only the names of your contacts and sends them to our servers. Phone numbers, email addresses, and any other information about your contacts are not used.

Your contacts are never spammed.

Because we only collect your contact names, Vlingo is unable to spam your contacts. Besides, we wouldn't even if we could!

Your identity remains anonymous to us.

We do not receive any personally identifiable information about you. We use a unique identifier from your device that allows us to maintain your custom language model which contains the names you are likely to say. This information is not associated with your name, phone number or email address.
