Configure
- PC Address: Name of the Windows workstation. Either:
- A TCP/IP address as 192.168.2.1
- DNS name as funfun.no-ip.org
- NETBIOS name. Must start with a /
If on a local WIFI network, use the blue arrow icon to make a local network search.
NETBIOS names can only be used on a local WIFI network. With a 3G/Edge phone network, a DNS or IP address must be used.
- Port number:Port number for the session. As default a Windows uses port 3389
- PC User and Password:The User ID and password is send encrypted on session start. Keep this field empty, and the normal
Windows sign on screen is shown. If using domain names, write domain-name\user. Example : workgroup\billgates
- Mac Address. Used with Wake on LAN function. The syntax is 12 hex digits. Separators as : and - are legal. Example: 00:0a:96:ac:02:35
- WOL port: The port used in Wake on LAN. As default port 9 is used
- WOL broadcast: If on a local HOME network, the Wake on LAN frames should be send as a broadcast.
- WOL send ping: If on a LAN, it is possible to check if the PC has been booted, using ping.
If the iPhone/iPad is only on the Internet, it will not be useful, as ping will be send to the router and maybe the router will answer,
but it tells nothing about the state for the PC , we are trying to wake.
- Name:An alias name for the session
- Terminal Server: Option used to tell only workstation access is possible.
- PC Keyboard type: Language type for the keyboard on the PC. Unicode is recommended (new in v 3.0), but
the older scan code tables for special languages will
for the moment still be possible, as to prevent possible problems with older PC installations.
- Screen size: Screen resolution on the PC. Notice , not all screen drivers can handle any size. A smaller screen size give a faster display
- 16 bit color mode:Using 16 bit color gives a better display, but will need 2 times the band width compared
to the 8 bit mode.
- Mouse at finger: Either drag and hover point is at the finger or from the last cursor position.
- Show warnings: Display a warning window, when low on memory
- Show circle at click: A tap on the screen gives a green circle at the hit point.
- View only: Ignore keyboard and mouse input
- Motions: Moving the device left /right or up/down will scroll the
screen
- Wireless keyboard: Include limited support for a Mac wireless keyboard. The current iPad
OS does not fully support the keyboard
- Key click: Selects if extra keys in the scroll banner , such as f1 f2.. should make a click sound
- Toggle blue buttons: Show and hide the black tool bar banner with a shake of the iPhone.
- Protocol v 4.: Use the older protocol v 4. Cannot be recommended as it is slower and wallpaper cannot be configured. Cannot be used with Windows 8.
- Wallpaper: If a wallpaper background for the desktop should be shown. Will give a slower display.
- Right handed mouse : A default mouse on a PC is right handed, but in PC settings, it can be changed to left handed.
- Clipboard: Allow clipboard text and images to be send between the iphone/iPad and the PC.
- Play sound on PC: Should sound be send to the iPad/iPhone or be played on the PC. As sound uses a lot of band width, it is recommended to keep the sound on the PC. To see a movie with the RDP protocol cannot be recommended.
- Close session on exit: With iOS 4, a tap on the home button, moves
the RDP client to the background. Select with this option, if the session to the PC should
also close.
- PC AT keyboard: Enable it for old PC programs which is designed for a PC keyboard, without separate arrow/page up/down keys.
- Give NLA warning: When a new session is started, the rdp protocol, can check if NLA is enabled on the PC.
- Auto lock: If NO, the screen will not lock as to save power, if YES, the auto lock configuration from the iOS is used.
- Stylus pen: If using a Pen, a mouse click does not have a small Y offset, compared to when using a finger.
- Wireless alt key: If on a wireless keyboard alt+ctrl + 0-9 should be alt+f1-f10. Some keyboards uses alt+0-9 as normal characters, and
it can give a conflict.
