Mac OS X Lion has added a radical video screen capture addition. To access this, navigate to: "File" > "New Screen Recording" then tap the red "Record" button. Click and drag the highlighted area over the desired part of screen you wish to record.

Emoji support is astounding. To add it when typing, press: "Command" + "Option" + "T" shortcut. Next, Head to the "Emoji" tab then copy ("Command" + "C") then paste ("Command" + "V") the Emoticon on the desired text field.

Adding a personal signature to a PDF is a feature most have longed for. Simply write your signature in black ink on a small sheet of paper. Next, head to: "Preview" > "Preferences" > "Signature". Hold the piece of paper up to the iSight Camera.

If you are running one of the most recent version Mac OS X Lion, the dot indicator buttons for running apps vanished. To re-enable the helpful buddies, head to: "System Preferences" > "Dock" > "Show indicator lights for open applications".

Customizable Panels

To customize the panels shown in System Preferences, navigate to: "System Preferences". Next, click "View" in the top menubar then tap "Customize". It will then allow you to check and uncheck all of the panels you want and don't want to see in your Preferences.

Folders (iOS Style) can be created on your desktop the same way how you do it on your iOS Device. Simply tap and hold an application and wait for it to enter the "jiggle" mode. Next, still holding the app, drag and drop the application over another. And there you have it! A new folder. Editing the folder name is also possible.

Mac OS X Lion automatically disables the scroll bar when you're not really scrolling. To keep it on, go to: "System Preferences" > "General" then in the "Show scroll bars" section, choose the "Always" radio button.

Full Screen Issue

Apps like Google Chrome™ will not allow you to exit full screen mode, due to the minimize button not appearing. It's personally frustrating. To exit or enter full screen mode with or without the mininmize/expand button, press: "Command" + "Shift" + "F".

Mail View

If you don't want the new iPad style mail view, it is possible to switch back to the classic Mail layout. To do so, go to Mail's preferences ("Command" + "," [Remember have Mail OPEN]) Click the "Viewing" section. After, check off "Use classic layout".

Log In Screen Message

If your Mac has passcode protection, you can add a custom message that displays on the log in screen. To turn it on, navigate to: "System Preferences" > "Security & Privacy" > then check off the "Show a message when device is locked". Type in your custom message in the text field.

Easy Folders

To create a quick folder with selecting a bunch of files, first control click ("Ctrl" + click the file) then right click them. Press the "New folder with Selection (xx items)" button (or just press "Command" + "Shift" + "N").

Remove Sidebar Item

If you want to permanently remove an item on the Finder sidebar, to get rid of it, simply press and hold the "Command" key and drag it out of the sidebar.

Your Mac will automatically lock your documents after a specific time slot to prevent you from accidentally autosaving them. The time of protection can be adjusted in: "System Preferences" > "Time Machine".

If you want to share an image to, let's say FaceBook™, simply view the file by pressing the spacebar while having the file selected. Press the "Share" button () on the timeline box. An option will appear to share the Video/Image to: Facebook™, Mail, Flickr™, Vimeo™ (if it's a video), iTunes and YouTube™ (if it's a video).

If you are currently using Spaces to have Multiple Desktops, you can press the Option key and it will then add an "X" to the Space currently open, and a "+" on the far right corner.

The way to add your own custom words to the Device's Dictionary, is to navigate to: "Settings" > "General" > "Keyboard" > "Edit User Dictionary". Press the "+" button on the top of the page to add a custom word. This custom dictionary is often used for abbreviations like "lol" that automatically changes to laugh out loud or whatever.

To change the text size on your device, navigate to: "Settings" > "General" > "Accessibility" > "Large Text". Once on the page, select the size of text you wish your Device to begin showing.

The way to trim a Voice Memo, is first by opening up the Voice Memo app. Click the list index button on the right. It will then lead you to a page showing all your recent memos. Click the blue disclosure button on the right of the memo you wish to trim. On this next page, tap the "Trim Memo" button. Slide your finger across the yellow timeline until it fits your desire.

Change Memo Name

To change the name of a memo, open the Voice Memo app. When you're on the first page, tap the list index button. Click the disclosure button on the right of the memo. It will then lead you to the Info page for the Voice Memo. Tap the large table cell- once you did, it will lead you to a page where you may customize the name of the memo.

Sync Voice Memos

The way to Sync Voice Memos from your Device to your Computer is through iTunes. First, open your iTunes application on your Computer. Also, make sure you plug in your Device to the Computer. Sleeping your iOS device when a timer ends is a notable feature in iOS. To activiate this option open your "Clock" application. From there, tap the "Timer" tab. Set the timer at your will. Sometimes you may have a truck load of pictures/videos you'd like to send someone; but E-Mailing them one-by-one is tiresome. To quicken this, just press the "action" button on the top right corner of the page; After that, tap the files you want to share. To start a slideshow, press the play button on the tabbar. After that, it will bring you to a screen which diplays settings for your slideshow. Whenever you take a photo or video, your ipod automatically Geo-Tags the files (Unless they are configured in Settings). When the files are tagged, you can view where they were taken on a map. To access the directions feature in Maps, simply touch the "Directions" segmented button- then enter the directions in the text fields at the top of the page. Notes Syncing

A way to allow Notes to automatically sync from your iPhone to Mac, go to: "Settings" > "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and flip the "Sync Notes" switch from OFF to ON. Next, set up a default account. To do this, head to: "Settings" > "Notes" then tap "Default Account". After, select "Mobile Me". All your Notes will now be synced with your Mac (when you view your Mobile Me E-Mail on your Mac).

Call Forwarding

Call forwarding is used when you don't want calls to go to your iPhone, and then redirects it to a different phone number. To enable this, go to: "Settings" > "Phone" > "Call Forwarding". Then slide the Call Forwarding switch from OFF to ON. Type in the number you wish the calls to be forwarded to in the keypad. After, tap the "Call Forwarding" button to return to the Call Forwarding screen.

To make cutom ringtones, open iTunes on your Computer. Locate and select the song you wish to make a ringtone. When selected, right click and press "Get Info". Click "Options". Type in the start of the part (i.e 3:04) of ringtone- then type in the finish time of the new ringtone (no more than 40 seconds long). Press "OK". After, right click the ringtone and click "Delete". Next, click "Keep Files". Next, locate the file. It will be under: "Music" > "iTunes" > "iTunes Music" > and under the artist's name. To configure a custom voicemail greeting, open your "Phone" app. Tap the Voicemail tab. Next, click "Greeting" and tap "Custom" in the slide up page. Press "Record" to start, and "Stop" to stop the recording. Then select "Save".

Browsing Safari and talking on the iPhone while on 3G is possible with the GSM model. The keyboard tapping sound is automatically disabled as you talk. To return to the Phone application, tap the green status bar.

If you see a phone number while in Safari, just tap and hold the phone number to make a quick call. Other options will sometimes include "Create New Contact" and/or "Text Message".

To view the length of a call, go to the "Recents" tab and tap the blue disclosure button near any recent call. On the next page, it'll show the call duration near the bottom.

If you're iPhone for some reason can't send that text message, you'll see a red exclamation point badge over your Messages app. You will have an option to retry sending the message in the application.

To turn a recent caller into a contact, open your Phone application. Select the "Recents" tab. Tap the blue disclosure button near the recent call you wish to add as a contact. Press either: "Add to Existing Contact" or "Create New Contact Button".

Bookmarking

To view bookmarks, click the icon on the bottom tabbar of Safari. A list will then slide up showing your bookmarks and bookmark folders. To delete a bookmark, just slide your finger across the table cell; or click the edit button. To make a bookmark folder, click the "New Folder" button. Fill out the fields and Viola! A new bookmark folder!

FInd Word on Webpage

To find a specific word on a Webpage, just type in the word in the search bar on the top-rght corner. At the bottom of the list, you should see "On this page (XX matches)"- click that. It will then bring you back to the webpage and highlight the word(s) in yellow. Press the "Next" button to reveal more finds.

Quick Web Address

Sync & Airplane Mode

Airplane mode is a very helpful tool. It's really meant for when you lift off and land on an Airplane; but it's meant for other purposes also. One of them is turning the mode on before you sync your iPhone, so your sync will not get interrupted if there is an incoming call. To turn it on, go to: "Settings" then switch the "Airplane Mode" switch from "OFF" to "ON".

Passcodes

There are two types of passwords to choose from: simple and alphanumeric. To start off, navigate to: "Settings" > "General", "Passcode Lock". To choose a simple Passcode, leave the switch in the "On" state. For an alphanumeric Passcode, flick the switch to "Off". After doing this, touch the "Turn Passcode On" button. You will then be able to choose your passcode.

Remote Lockdown

If you've lost your iPhone, and you don't want anyone to view your private content- an option is a remote lock. To do so, log in to Mobile Me on your Computer. Click the "Find my iPhone" column on the left. After, choose "Remote Lock". A popup will then come up- enter and reenter your PIN. Press "Done" to complete the process.

Restrictions

Most individuals set up restrictions on their iPhone(s) for their child/children's saefty. To set this up, go to "Settings" > "General" > "Restrictions". It will then prompt you to set a restrictions passcode. After you entered the passcode, a page will then show with dozens of restriction options. Choose the one(s) you with to set. If you wish to deisable restrictions, tap the "Disable Restrictions" button on the top of the page.

Erase Data

A great security feature add-on to the passcode is the Erase All Data option. It will erase all your Device's data after ten incorrect passocde attempts. First, create a passcode. Once done and on the Passcode Lock page ("Settings" > "General" > "Passcode Lock"), flick the "Erase Data" feature from OFF to ON. Tap the "Enable" button on the action sheet that shows up.

Delete Backup

The steps to delete a backup you created is simple. First, on your Computer, open iTunes. After, open the iTunes preferences (Command + ,) (Mac) (Windows: Edit > preferences) Click the Devices section. (NOTE: Your Device does not have to be connected.) Click the backup you wish to delete; then press "Delete Backup". Confirm then press OK to go head back to iTunes.

Auto-Lock

The Auto-Lock is a feature that automatically locks your iPhone if not touched within a certain abount of time. If you wish to turn on or modify the feature, go to "Settings" > "General" > "Auto-Lock". It wil then bring you to a page where you will check off how long the Device will go until it will be Auto-Locked.

Receive Blind Copy

Marking an E-Mail as Un-Read can be very helpful. To do this, open an E-Mail. Click the "Details" link on the top-right corner. As you probably noticed, the message's header "collapsed" and revealed a: • Mark as Unread link. Tap that. If you go back to the E-Mail table lists, notice the blue bullet () on the left of the message table cell.

Sometimes it's hard to find that thing you're looking for. To eliminate long efforts, first scroll to your search screen that preceds the home screen. You will then see a search bar. This searches your whole device! Even in Notes, Mail, etc.

To delete an item on a list quickly on either: Notes, Mail, Music (deleting a Playlist) or Safari (deleting a Bookmark)- just swipe your finger acroll the table cell. Then, a red "delete" button will appear.
